Road Detours Set for May 5 Loyalty Day Parade

The Batavia Loyalty Day Parade is coming from 1:30 to 4 p.m. and there will be numerous road detours and temporary traffic interruptions on the east side of Batavia.

The 2013 Batavia Loyalty Day Parade will take place on Sunday, May 5—and there will be numerous road detours and temporary traffic interruptions on the east side of Batavia as a result of the parade between the hours of 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., Batavia officials report.

Route 25 traffic will be detoured to Route 31 during the event hours. Wilson Street will be closed between Island Ave and Woodland Hills Road during the event. This closure will include the Donovan Bridge on Wilson Street. Officials are asking drivers to use the Fabyan Parkway and Route 56 bridges as detours during these hours.

Motorists should be prepared to encounter increased pedestrian traffic in the downtown area. More detailed event information is available on the Batavia Overseas Post 1197 website.
