POLICE: North Aurora Teen Charged With Selling Over 1 Lb. of Marijuana

The 18-year-old is accused of selling drugs to an undercover officer, according to media reports and court records.

An 18-year-old North Aurora teen faces five different drug charges after a run-in with police last week, according to court records.

Krisada Cheung is accused of selling over a pound of marijuana to an undercover officer and was arrested on July 27, the Daily Herald reports.

The arresting agency for this case was the North Central Narcotics Task Force, who had reason to think Cheung was selling drugs before the investigation, according to the Kane County Chronicle.

Cheung is charged with the manufacturing/delivery of cannabis in these separate amounts:

  • Between 500 grams but less than 2000 grams (1 lb. is about 453.6 grams)
  • Between 30 and 500 grams
  • Between 10 and 30 grams
  • Between 2.5 and 10 grams

He is also charged with possession of a controlled substance containing psilocybin, or hallucinogenic mushrooms, the Chronicle's story said.

Cheung was taken to the Kane County Jail over the weekend. He posted $7,500, 10 percent of his $75,000 bail, and was released on July 28, according to jail records.

The next court date for Cheung's case is on Aug. 8.

The North Central Narcotics Task Force is a multi-jurisdictional law enforcement group that investigates illicit drug trafficking and distribution, gang activity and weapon offenses in Kane and other area counties, according to its website.
