Police Spot Mercedes' Vehicle Sticker Altered With Marker, Charges Follow

The following information was supplied by the Geneva Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Geneva police arrested David Armstrong, 61, of Geneva on charges of unlawful possession of title and registration and driving with a suspended, revoked or cancelled license around 8: 15 a.m. Sept. 12 in the 1000 block of South Randall Road, after some alert police work and an eye for detail.

According to the synopsis report, while on patrol, an officer noticed a Mercedes-Benz that appeared to have its vehicle registration sticker altered. After making the traffic stop, the officer confirmed that the sticker had been altered using a marker.

Armstrong was not in possession of his driver’s license, and a LEADS inquiry determined that his driver’s license was suspended and the vehicle registration was expired.
