Police: Shooting Suspects Never Found Item During Home Invasion

Investigators are looking for two men in connection to the Oct. 2 incident on Route 25.

The two men who invaded an apartment and shot at two other men in North Aurora last week never found the item they were looking for, police said.

The item the men demanded was not in the apartment, located on the 100 block of South River Road, said Scott Buziecki, North Aurora Deputy Police Chief.

Buziecki said he could not reveal what the item was, but said it was not in police custody last week.

Buziecki also said there was no evidence of forced entry during the incident, which occurred at about 7 a.m. Oct. 2. The two men knocked on the door of an apartment in the building. Once a 22-year-old man opened the door, one of the men "pointed a gun at him and demanded to be given an item that they were looking for," according to a North Aurora Police Department press release.

One of the two men eventually shot the 22-year-old man in the arm and another man, 23, in the arm and chest. The 23-year-old man was in the apartment during the home invasion with his girlfriend. She was unharmed during the incident, Buziecki said.

The two men then fled the scene in an unknown direction. The men who were shot provided this suspect description.

North Aurora was assisted by several other police agencies when the investigation began, including the Kane County Sheriff's Office and the Batavia Police Department.
