Police: Robbery Reported Outside Woodman's In Broad Daylight

An unidentified man struck an employee from behind and grabbed money on Saturday afternoon. Here's some more details.

North Aurora Police are in search of two men who were reportedly part of a robbery outside Woodman's Saturday afternoon.

Two Woodman's employees carrying an undetermined amount of currency to the store's gas station were robbed at about 2 p.m. Saturday. The suspects are two black males who fled the scene in a vehicle, according to police.

The employees were transporting the currency from the main Woodman's store, 151 Hansen Blvd., North Aurora, to the Gas and Lube facility nearby.

After crossing through the parking lot, a silver four-door vehicle pulled up behind the employees.

A black male passenger exited the vehicle, struck one of the employees from behind and grabbed the money, according to police.

The vehicle was driven by another black male. The two men wore dark clothing during the robbery.

The vehicle was described as a 2011 or 2012 Hyundai Sonata or Toyota Camry. It left the scene southbound on Orchard Road.

The suspects' vehicle had a partial plate number of 64245. It's not known what part of the full plate number sequence those numbers are from.

The employee harmed in the incident was treated by medics and released on scene.

This incident remains under investigation by the North Aurora Police Department. Anyone with information should call the department's Investigations Division at 630-897-8705, ext 610.
