OMG PD: Car Thumpers, Screws Loose, iPad Jacked

Here's a round-up of recent and bizarre police report items from the area.

GLEN ELLYN

Three Strikes at 3:25 a.m.

Baljinnyam Tserennadmid, 37, of the 0-99 block of Vivaldi Court, Wheaton, was arrested at 3:25 a.m. Dec. 2 at Roosevelt Road and Blanchard Street, police said. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and endangering the life or health of a child.

Unlocked iPad

"Library" Does Not Equal "Freebie"

An unknown person stole three video games from the Glen Ellyn Public Library, 400 Duane St. The theft was reported at 11:35 a.m. Dec. 3. The value of the items stolen was under $500.

ST. CHARLES

Car Thumpers

Ryan Dennis Courtney, 27, of the 6N600 block of Brookhaven Lane, and William D. Signore, 23, of the 39W600 block of Carl Sandburg Road, were each charged at 11:30 p.m. Dec. 7 in the 200 block of West Main Street with disorderly conduct. According to the police report, an officer on foot patrol heard a car horn being used repeatedly and saw two men yelling at a female driver stopped at a traffic light. The officer said they also apparently were making contact with the car because he heard a thumping sound.

The officer said the woman then exited the car and began yelling at the two men. The woman, a Geneva resident, then got back into her car as the two men walked away, but she identified herself to the officer as he stopped Courtney and Signore. A West Chicago woman, who also had stopped at the same traffic light, told the officer she witnessed the incident. Both women told the officer the Geneva woman did nothing to provoke the incident. The two men were booked and released. Damage to the Geneva woman’s car was limited to some scuff marks, police said.

NORTH AURORA

Couple of Loose Screws

A truck spilled its load of screws near Butterfield Road (Route 56) and River Road (Route 25) in North Aurora at about 2 p.m. Thursday, according to police. Traffic became congested while police attempted to speed up the clean up.

"Special thanks to Aurora Pack for lending their forklift with a large magnet that helped clean up the screws more quickly than anticipated," an e-mail alert from North Aurora police said.

The Butterfield and River roads intersection was back open by 2:52 p.m.

If the metal was in the dumpster, why do they care if someone takes it. It was garbage to the business, but $$$ for the scrapper.

Did it ever occur to you that the dumpster was a recyle dumpster meant only for metal that the business used and received the cash for the metal?

I had to chuckle. Your name could be" Rob Dumpster". Just being silly. You are probably right that it was a scrap metal dumpster.

I went to the Farmers' Market on River St. this Saturday and was very impressed. It looks so nice onRead More the newly refurbished River St. Had some gelato at the new restaurant O' Sole Mio and it was very good. Love the new location for the Farmers' Market! Downtown Batavia is Rockin!

My schildren were asked to take this survey and both did. If the school board wanted an accurate andRead More fair assesment on what is going on at the school the would have eliminated the students name at the top. How many highschoolers do they really think were going to admit to using alcohol of drugs with their name embossed right on top?

A survey.....A survey with the student's name in on it asking them to admit to illegal activity?????Read More How can school administrators approve this before it was implemented. The trust that students have with their teachers and counselors has been breached and this has turned into a farce. (This reminds me of my fifth grade PE teacher who had me and over 60 of my classmates right certain letters on paper taped on the bathroom wall when someone wrote 4 LETTER WORDS above the urinals. No ones writing matched. Don't figure) Although there are many students that could benefit from counseling or intervention thinking that they would come forward through a piece of paper is....well, not smart. I attended public schools my whole life and never heard of anything like this. I compliment the teachers and counselors at BHS for the outstanding education my child has received. Constitutional rights or not this was just wrong. I support and thank the teacher for conveying this to the students. How many other teachers were put in an ackward position instructing there students to take the survey? How many reviewed this with there department heads and principals? This is being hushed by 101. Administrators and School Board, you need more communication with your teachers and potential implications to students. Very Embarassing....
