Police Reports: Car vs. Batavia Bicyclist, Interfering With Officer, Battery

The following information was supplied by area police departments. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following police incidents occurred on March 22, and involve Batavia-area residents or took place in Batavia. Here they are in chronological order:

1:15 a.m.—Interfering With An Officer

A 22-year-old North Aurora woman had a run-in with police on Naperville's west side.

Kelsey Lynn Hendricksen, of the 200 block of North Lincolnway in North Aurora, was arrested near Bordeaux Lane and Beaumont Drive, police said. She was charged with interfering with an officer.

Hendricksen's bond was $120.

8:13 a.m.—Car vs. Bicyclist

A 14-year-old Batavia boy was knocked off his bike by an unknown car on the city's west side.

The boy was attempting to cross the street on his bike at Main Street and Pitz Lane, just east of the Batavia High School campus.

The boy did not see any oncoming cars and proceeded to cross the road. While he was crossing he was struck by a vehicle, according to a police report.

The vehicle did not stop. The boy did not sustain any injuries, the report said.

The report did not indicate whether the boy was headed to or from the high school.

9:56 a.m.—Civil Matter

A contractor and a homeowner on Batavia's west side were involved in a dispute over a contract issue.

The incident took place on the 1400 block of Newton Avenue, according to a police report.

1:15 p.m.—Criminal Damage to Property

A mailbox was struck and damaged by an unknown object on the west side.

The cost to repair or replace this mailbox on the 300 block of Aldrin Avenue is $25, according to a police report.

2:34 p.m.—Car Crash: Property Damage

A driver from St. Charles was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

The incident took place at Kirk Road and Wilson Street, according to a police report.

4:55 p.m.—Car Crash: Property Damage

A driver from Montgomery was issued a citation for driving too fast for conditions.

The incident occurred at South Randall Road and Main Street, according to a police report.

7:55 p.m.—Assist Other Agency

A Batavia officer assisted the Geneva Police Department with an incident at Kirk Road and State Street (Route 38).

No other information was available on this incident.

8:29 p.m.—Car Crash: Property Damage

A car crash was reported at Kirk Road and Giese Roads on Batavia's east side.

No citations were issued, according to a police report.

10:05 p.m.—Battery

An incident of battery was reported at a business on the 100 block of South Batavia Avenue.

Further information was not available at the time of the report.
