Police Investigate Shooting in NW Kane County

One person involved in the weekend incident is undergoing a psychological evaluation, according to the Kane County Sheriff's Office. Here's what happened.

One man was taken to a hospital and a man was also taken into custody after a weekend shooting in northwest Kane County, the Sheriff's Office reported Tuesday.

Kane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence in the town of Burlington for a report that a subject had been shot. The deputies responded at about 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, along with officers from the Campton Hills and Hampshire police departments.

The initial responding officers located an adult male who had been shot in the arm. They also took one adult male into custody.

The victim was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin with non-life threatening injuries. 

The man taken into custody has not been charged in relation to the shooting. This person is undergoing a psychological evaluation, the Sheriff's Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office is not in search of anyone else in relation to this shooting.

The case remains under investigation. At this time no further details are available.
