Police: Batavia Teen Cited For Drinking, Foreclosed Home Ransacked

The following arrest information was supplied by the Batavia Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Batavia police officers responded to the following incidents on April 8. Here they are in chronological order:

4:37 a.m.—Traffic Arrest

A 31-year-old Aurora resident is headed to court after an incident on Batavia's east side.

Carmen Munguia-Cuateco, of the 900 block of Ohio Street in Aurora, was cited for no valid driver's license and speeding. The incident occurred on the 500 block of South Kirk Road, according to a police report.

Munguia-Cuateco posted $150 bond and was issued a court date for May 15.

5:30 a.m.—Consumption of Alcohol By Minors

An 18-year-old Batavia teen is headed to court after an incident downtown.

Alexander G. Moore, of the 0-99 block of Saratoga Drive, was cited for:

  • Illegal consumption of liquor under 21 years of age 
  • Improper parking on a roadway

The incident occurred on the 200 block of West Wilson Street, according to a police report.

Moore posted $150 bond and was given a court date of May 15.

7:41 a.m.—Accidental Damage

A mailbox was damaged sometime overnight on the east side.

The incident occurred on the 1300 block of Bluebell Lane. The mailbox was valued at $30, according to a police report.

12:49 p.m.—Civil Matter

Property was unlawfully removed from a foreclosed home on Batavia's east side.

The following items were missing from the home:

  • Sinks
  • Countertops
  • Bathroom mirrors
  • Closet doors
  • Handrails
  • Cabinetry
  • Kitchen appliances

The incident occurred on the 500 block of Wind Energy Pass, according to a police report.

No further information was available on this incident.

1:03 p.m.—Car Crash: Property Damage

A car crash was reported in a parking lot of a business on the 1900 block of West Fabyan Parkway.

No citations were issued.

3:43 p.m.—Traffic Arrest

A 28-year-old Aurora man is headed to court after an incident on Batavia's east side.

Jason M. Ortiz, of the 700 block of Pine Street in Aurora, was cited for driving while license suspended. The incident occurred at Kirk Road and Wind Energy Pass, according to a police report.

Ortiz was also issued warnings for speeding and expired registration.

Ortiz I-bonded out and was released. He has a court date of May 8.

7:14 p.m.—Disturbance

Eggs were being thrown at buildings on the 1200 block of East Wilson Street.

Juveniles were involved in the incident. No further information was available.

9:49 p.m.—Criminal Damage to Property

Concrete damage was reported on a west-side driveway.

There was in excess of a dozen individual holes in the concrete, according to a police report. The incident occurred on the 2700 block of Lusted Lane.

The damage was estimated at $1,000.

11:36 p.m.—Harassment by Telephone

A subject reported harassment via phone or text messages on the 300 block of South Raddant Road.

No further information was available on this incident.
