Police: Batavia Teen Caught Taking Vodka From Target
The following information was supplied by the Batavia Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
An 18-year-old Batavia teenager is headed to court after an incident on Friday at a store led police to her home.
Emily (or Emilie) O. Nerad, 921 Campbell Ct., was observed leaving the Batavia Target, 115 N. Randall Road, with a bottle of Absolut Citron vodka, according to a police report.
Then Nerad got into her vehicle and left the premises. This incident went out to police dispatch at 6:35 p.m. on Friday.

According to the report, Nerad was later located at her home and taken into custody for:
- Retail Theft
- Illegal Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor
Nerad was released with a Notice to Appear. She has a court date of Oct. 11.

Here's Another Recent Retail Theft
A 38-year-old Davenport, IA, man is also headed to court after an incident on Sept. 19 at a different store.
Jermaine Davis, 1327 Perry St., was arrested for retail theft at Kohl's, 251 N. Randall Road. Police were dispatched at 2:58 p.m. Sept. 19.
According to police, Davis attempted to take:
- One pair of shoes
- Two watches
- One pendant
- Total retail value: $163.98
A complaint was issued. Davis was released with a notice to appear and a court date of Oct. 11.
