Mystery Shopper Scam Hits East Side

Here's an item from a March 2 Batavia Police blotter.

received word that someone tried to obtain almost $1,800 from a mystery shopper scam.

The allegedly false transaction was reported on March 2 in the 400 block of Madison Street, where two money orders were received valued at $896.90 each.

The bank stated that both money orders were fictitious.
