UPDATE: Police Identify Geneva Man Found Dead at Kane County Events Center

A Kane County spokesperson identifies the Geneva man as Casey Gemeny, 43, of Geneva.

The 43-year-old Geneva man found dead Saturday afternoon at the Kane County Events Center has been identified as Casey Gemeny of Geneva, a county spokesperson said Tuesday.

Kane County Community Affairs Director Laurie Metanchuk said Forest Preserve police discovered Gemeny's body in the northeast corner of the Events Center property at around 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19.

Metanchuk said earlier Tuesday that the investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the Kane County Forest Preserve police, in conjunction with the Kane County Sheriff's Office.

Unconfirmed reports Saturday said police were notified after someone on a train said they saw a body in a tree on the property near Fifth Third Bank Ballpark.

We've had Patch-disagreements in tha past, btown, but you've done nothing reprehensible here. Posting a link to background info of this sort without any personal comments is not disrespectful. It does help us understand each other better and to realize how important it is for those who need help to get help before a tragedy happens. For better or worse, public record is public record. Comments on the Patch included.

This is my brother...and yeah he had a past but if you didnt know him you dont deserve to put anything negative about him. I have known him since I came to life on October 6 1979 He was a great man, a great father and a great brother. He was battleing addictions like many people these days do but YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO JUDGE HIM BY ANY MEANS and as for Btown seeing that you dont know the man and you post a link whch makes you a detective let the man I know as a brother pass in peace...Only God judges and God knows what kind of a man he is.. Love you Casey and until we meet again brother.

Lillian Christian Aunt John 8:7 - So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. My tears run down my face only because I cannot say I love you I cannot hold you because your in pain I cannot change reality I can except your decision and pray. Until we meet again my beautiful nephew God Bless
