Juveniles Punch Victims in 3 Cases of Domestic Battery

The following information was supplied by the Batavia Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Batavia police reports for the week prior to Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, included the unusual occurrence of three incidents in which juveniles were charged with or suspected of domestic battery.

 

Fight Over Cell Phone

Batavia police arrested a juvenile offender and charged the juvenile with domestic battery bodily harm to a family member and insulting/provoking contact after the arrestee struck a victim in the face after fighting over a cell phone, reports said. The arrestee was transferred to the juvenile Justice Center, and the Department of Children and Family Services was contacted. The report was filed at 6:13 p.m. Oct. 27 in the 2200 block of Kane Lane.

Victim Punched in Face

A juvenile offender was arrested on charges of domestic battery bodily harm and insulting/provoking contact in the 400 block of Meadowrue Lane, according to a report at 10:16 a.m. Oct. 26. A verbal dispute led to the offender punching the victim in the face, reports said. A Juvenile Court officer was contacted, and the subject was released to his parents.

Reports: Mom Punched By Son

A domestic battery was reported at 5:11 p.m. Oct. 25 at Lorlyn Apartments, 1000 block of Lorlyn Circle, but no charges were filed. According to the daily reports synopsis, the victim told police that during a verbal dispute with her son, the young man began breaking things in the home and punched her in the hip. No injuries were reported or complaints signed.
