Batavia Police: Daughter's Cocaine, Cannabis, Overdose

FRIDAY, DEC. 14

He's Got Weed, But No License

A male juvenile driver from Aurora was cited with no valid driver's license and possession of cannabis at 1:37 p.m. An officer stopped the juvenile's vehicle at Lathem Street and Kirk Road. There were five other juveniles in the vehicle who were also charged with possession of cannabis. A full report of this incident is pending.

THURSDAY, DEC. 6

Drug Overdose

Someone was transported at 12:51 a.m. from a downtown Batavia business to Delnor Hospital for a drug overdose, according to a police report. Further information was not available on this incident.

FRIDAY, NOV. 30

Passenger Parts Ways With Cannabis

During a traffic stop at 8:41 p.m., an officer determined that the male passenger in the vehicle, from Montgomery, had a small amount of cannabis on him. The male cooperated with a search, which took place in a parking lot on the 1300 block of East Wilson Street. He admitted to possessing the cannabis, which was confiscated with no charges filed. The driver of the vehicle, from Batavia, was issued a warning for speeding.

MONDAY, NOV. 26

Cannabis and Paraphernalia

Stephania M. Baldyga, 21, of the 800 block of Ohio Street, St. Charles, was issued a complaint in connection with unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a police report. She was arrested at 4:49 p.m. on the 1900 block of McKee Street. Baldyga posted $150 bond and had a Dec. 11 court date.

FRIDAY, NOV. 23

Mother Finds Daughter's Cocaine

An officer responded at 1:24 a.m. to a residence on Chillem Drive at the request of a mother who found a plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance belonging to her daughter. The mother was concerned the substance may be cocaine. The mother confronted the daughter, who denied any knowledge of the substance. The daughter then left the home. The substance did field-test positive for cocaine, according to a police report. The cocaine was entered into evidence.

The mother sought help for her daughter and was referred to Victims Services, part of the Aurora-based Association of Individual Development. Victims Services provides 24-hour assistance to victims and survivors of violent crime or trauma to respond to their psychological, emotional and physical needs, according to its parent group website. Help is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 630-966-9393.
