"He was unharmed and told police that he wanted to walk to Mexico," the Sheriff's Office reported.

Sheriff's officials did not suspect foul play, but sent Zapeda's photo and asked residents to call 911 with any information. Family members were worried because Zapeda suffers from dementia and does not speak English. He was returned home safe and sound.

This is the second incident in one week involving a senior with dementia from Aurora Township. On Feb. 20, an 85-year-old woman did not return home with her husband from shopping in the Geneva area. She was later found safe at the Westfield Fox Valley Mall by building security as they were closing for the night.
