Heads Up! June 2 North Aurora Community Parade Has Traffic, Parking Impacts

If you're travelling in the North Aurora area this weekend, you'll want to pay attention to this article from the NA Police Department.

The 2013 North Aurora Community Parade is coming up at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 2, and you'll want to keep that in mind if you're attending or driving in the area.

The parade will begin at the Clocktower Plaza, located at the intersection of Oak Street and Randall Road. The parade will travel east on Oak Street to Adams Street, South on Adams Street to State Street, east on State Street, and will end in the North Aurora Island Park.

Obviously, there will be parking restrictions, road closings, and traffic detours on the day leading up to the parade and on the day of the parade.

The North Aurora Police Department’s goal is to make the 2013 North Aurora Community Parade an enjoyable event for the community, while ensuring the safety and security of all those present and to keep the interruption of normal traffic flow to a minimum.

The following parking restrictions begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1:

  1. Both sides of Oak Street from Randall Road to Monroe Street. (Also Oak Street frontage from Walnut to Cherrytree.)
  2. Both sides of Monroe Street from State Street to Oak Street.
  3. Both sides of Adams Street from Oak Street to State Street.
  4. Both sides of State Street from Adams Street to Route 31.
  5. Both side of Grant Street from State Street to IL Route 25.
See the attached map where parking is prohibited on the posted side of the street.
