Hampshire Man Charged in Sexual Assault of St. Charles Teen

A 20-year-old Hampshire man has been charged with criminal sexual assault of a young St. Charles teenager who was five or more years younger than him, according to St. Charles police.


Jacob A. Mayes, 20, of the 48W500 block of Whispering Oaks Drive, was arrested at 2 p.m. Sept. 3, 2013 at the St. Charles Police Department, 211 N. Riverside Drive, according to an arrest log entry released this week.

The charge relates to the sexual assaults of a girl who is 13 to 17 years of age and who is five or more years younger than the assailant. According to St. Charles police, the assault occured about Jan. 26, 2013 in a parked vehicle.

Mayes posted $150 cash bond and was released pending an Oct. 10, 2013 court appearance.
