Firefighter Injured in Batavia House Fire
A fire damaged a home at 332 Evergreen Drive in Batavia Friday evening
Firefighters were called to the scene of the blaze at 5:35 p.m. where they found smoke on the first floor and a fire in the crawl space. Firefighters were able to have the fire under control by 5:56 p.m., according to a Batavia Fire Department press release.
The blaze caused minor smoke damage and some structural damage to the floor joists, flooring and walls. Damage estimates totaled $16,000, according to the news release.

One firefighter was injured after slipping on the ice and straining his back. The firefighter was transported to the hospital and treated and released, according to the press release.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Dispatched for fire inside home. Upon arrival crews encountered smoke on the first floor of the structure and a fire in the crawl space. Fire extinguished and floor and walls checked for fire extension with none found. Minor smoke damage and some structural damage to floor joists, flooring and walls. Cause of the fire is under investigation. One FF was injured after slipping on ice, transported to the hospital, treated and released.
