Fire Hydrant End Caps and Other Unusual Thefts in Batavia

Here's a roundup of thefts reported in Batavia from June 30 to July 14.


Fire Hydrant Caps Taken

Someone took three end caps from the fire hydrant at the intersection of Carlisle and South Jackson Street around 7:06 a.m. July 14, reports said.

Cellphone Left at Wal-Mart

Someone took a cellphone left at a checkout counter at Wal-Mart, 801 N. Randall Road, sometime prior to 6:50 p.m. July 14, reports said. The phone was valued at $400.

Portola Packaging Reports Theft

A theft over $500 was reported at Portola Packaging, 951 Douglas Road, around 2:55 p.m. July 11, reports said. The report does not say what was stolen.

Thefts With Limited Information

  • A theft under $500 was reported in the 200 block of South Jefferson Street around 5:32 p.m. July 11. No other information is provided.
  • A theft under $500 was reported in the 200 block of North Forest Avenue around 2:23 p.m. July 8. No information was provided regarding the items stolen or their value.
  • A report filed at 2:37 p.m. July 7 says a theft under $500 took place in the 800 block of Norcross Drive sometime between June 30 and July 7. The report does not say which items were stolen. 
  • A theft took place in the 1000 block of North Washington Street, according to a report filed at 7:06 a.m. July 6. No other information was provided.
  • A theft under $500 took place sometime between 7 p.m. June 30 and 5:30 p.m. July 1 in the 1500 block of Hadley Drive, reports said. The report does not say what was stolen.

 

Horse Theft, Sort Of

Someone took a city of Batavia construction horse barricade from the 1600 block of Sauk Drive, according to a report filed around 7:44 a.m. July 4. The barricade was covering a hole where a tree had been taken out by the city.
