The driver headed eastbound in his vehicle on Mooseheart Road. The man likely drove straight through the intersection at Mooseheart Road and Route 31 into the property located directly east of the intersection, said Steve Miller, North Aurora Fire Department Chief.

The man initially appeared to be in his twenties. Witnesses said he might have been driving as fast as 75 mph, Miller said. The man had to be extricated from the vehicle.

The vehicle went airborne and ended up fully inside the home, causing massive damage to the interior.

As of 8:15 p.m., Route 31 is open to traffic, per Nixle and the North Aurora police.
