3-Car Crash Sends 3 Drivers to Area Hospitals Near South Elgin Monday

The intersection of McDonald and Stevens roads was completely shut down.

Update: A 16-year-old was cited twice in connection to this crash.

A three-vehicle crash with injuries shut down an intersection near South Elgin Monday afternoon, police said.

The crash occurred at about 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of McDonald Road and Stevens Road in unincorporated Elgin Township, said Pat Gengler, Kane County Sheriff's Office spokesman.

The intersection of McDonald and Stevens roads was closed in all directions while investigators processed the scene—please avoid the area if possible.

All three vehicles were occupied only by their drivers. All three drivers were transported to area hospitals.
