DUI Arrests Include Aggravated DUI, 'Dazed' Driver, Drug Paraphernalia

The following information was supplied by the Geneva and Batavia police departments. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Aggravated DUI—Batavia police arrested Beligca Marrero, 27, of Aurora on charges of aggravated driving under the influence, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, improper lane usage, no valid driver’s license, and state citations of DUI and DUI with a blood-alcohol content of more than .08, Batavia police reports said. The arrest took place around 12:21 a.m. April 4 in the 1100 block fo South Batavia Avenue. Marrero was transported to the Kane County Jail.

DUI Alcohol—Batavia police arrested Michael J. Joyce, 24, of Batavia for driving under the influence, DUI with a blood-alcohol content of more than .08, disobeying a stop or yield sign, improper lane usage and disobeying a traffic control signal after a traffic stop around 12:52 a.m. April 8, reports said. Joyce posted his driver’s license and signature for bond and has a court date of April 23.

DUI, Accident, Uninsured Motor Vehicle—Geneva police arrested Richard Osburn, 62, of St. Charles on charges of driving under the influence, DUI with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or more, failure to report damage to an unattended vehicle or property and operating an uninsured motor vehicle around 6:24 p.m. March 29 in the 600 block of South Third Street, reports said. The report does not include the estimated dollar amount of the damage. Osburn has a court date of April 17 at the Kane County Judicial Center, 37W777 Route 38, St. Charles. A witness described Osburn and said he appeared “dazed” while driving his Jeep Grand Cherokee into a light pole in the 600 block of South Third Street about 50 feet north of Batavia Avenue (Route 31).
