Tri-Cities DUI Arrests, Jan. 6

Here's this week's roundup of local drunken driving arrests.

ST. CHARLES

Jan. 1:

  • Megan Kathleen Peterman, 34, of the 400 block of Hubbard Avenue, Elgin, was charged at 2:55 a.m. on the 2600 block of North Second Street (Route 31) with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08 and improper lane use. According to police, an officer saw Peterman northbound and noticed she was traveling over the speed limit and began to follow her. The vehicle drifted to the right, exited the roadway, swerved back onto the roadway but overcorrected, going into a side skid and turning completely around, coming to a stop facing south. Police said her blood-alcohol content registered .149. She was released on her own recognizance pending a Jan. 17, 2013, court appearance at the Kane County Judicial Center.
  • Robert B. Rydin, 60, of the 900 block of Persimmons Drive, was charged at 11:41 p.m. at 100 W. Main St., with DUI, DUI with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08, driving an uninsured vehicle, driving without lights when required and improper lane use. Further details were not available. He was released after posting his driver’s license and $300 cash bond pending a Feb. 22 court appearance.

Dec. 30: Alan Patric Heidecke, 22, of the 34W900 block of James Drive, was charged at 9:23 p.m. in the 300 block of Johnson Avenue with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use and speeding, 49 in a 35 mph zone on Red Gate Bridge. He posted his driver’s license and was released on his own recognizance pending a Jan. 17, 2013, court appearance. During the traffic stop, one of three passengers in the vehicle, Kyle William Sullivan, 23, of the 3500 block of Deville Lane, was charged with possession of less than 2.5 grams of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Heidecke posted his driver’s license and was released on his own recognizance pending a Jan. 17, 2013, court appearance; Sullivan was released on his own recognizance.

Dec. 29: Chad Allan Schroeder, of the 1000 block of Horizon, Bartlett, was charged at 12:29 a.m. on the 1400 block of North 5th Avenue (Route 25) with driving under the influence of alcohol, and improper lane use after Schroeder’s northbound vehicle struck a southbound vehicle, which was stopped in the left-turn lane at Country Club Road. Schroeder was released on his own recognizance after paying a $50 processing fee. He is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 23, 2013.

GENEVA

Dec. 19: Geneva police arrested Carmen Lee, 38, of St. Charles on charges of driving under the influence, DUI with a blood-alcohol content of more than .08, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis and improper lane usage at around 2:12 a.m. in the 800 block of North Bennett Street, reports said.

According to the complaint in the 16th Circuit Court, Lee possessed a smoking pipe and not more than 2.5 grams of marijuana. She has a court date of Jan. 16 at the Kane County Branch Court, 530 S. Randall Road, St. Charles.
