Jan. 20: Alberto J. Sepeda, 24, of the 0-99 block of Longview Place, Elgin, was charged at 5:32 a.m. with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving in the wrong lane, improper lane use, and speeding. Police stopped Sepeda after an unmarked squad had to swerve to avoid a crash with Sepeda, who was driving in the wrong lane near the 400 block of West Main Street about 4:53 a.m. The officer turned around and began following Sepeda, who police said was driving faster than 45 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Sepeda posted his driver’s license, $300 bond and a $50 booking fee, and he was released pending a Feb. 28, 2013 court appearance.
