Tri-Cities DUI Arrests, Jan. 27

BATAVIA

Jan. 12: Jose A. Holguin, 29, of the 300 block of Grand Avenue, Aurora, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and cited for improper lane usage. Batavia police arrested Holguin at 9:25 p.m. at North Kirk Road and East Wilson Street, according to a police report. Holguin was transported to the Kane County Jail where he awaited bond call.

GENEVA

Jan. 21: Geneva police arrested Kathy Loveland, 47, of Wheaton on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage following a traffic stop around 2:24 a.m. in the 300 block of East State Street, reports said. Loveland has a court date of March 6 in the Kane County Judicial Center, 37W777 Route 38, St. Charles.

ST. CHARLES

Jan. 20: Alberto J. Sepeda, 24, of the 0-99 block of Longview Place, Elgin, was charged at 5:32 a.m. with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving in the wrong lane, improper lane use, and speeding. Police stopped Sepeda after an unmarked squad had to swerve to avoid a crash with Sepeda, who was driving in the wrong lane near the 400 block of West Main Street about 4:53 a.m. The officer turned around and began following Sepeda, who police said was driving faster than 45 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Sepeda initially did not stop, the report stated, even after the officer activated the emergency lights and then the siren. Sepeda turned north onto Randall Road and eventually did stop about a quarter-mile north of Main Street. Sepeda posted his driver’s license, $300 bond and a $50 booking fee, and he was released pending a Feb. 28, 2013 court appearance.
