Coroner Releases Identity of 4-Year-Old Drowning Victim

Paulino F. Delle Grazie of St. Charles was found unresponsive in a pool at the Royal Fox Country Club Saturday afternoon.

A 4-year-old boy who drowned at the Royal Fox Country Club in St. Charles on Saturday has been identified as Paulino F. Delle Grazie of St. Charles, according to a Kane County Coroner's Office press release. 

Paramedics were called to the country club, at 4405 Royal and Ancient Drive, at 3 p.m., where the boy was found unresponsive in the pool. He was taken to Cadence Delnor Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 4:11 p.m. 

An autopsy Monday revealed the preliminary cause of death to be drowning. 

Meanwhile, an investigation is underway by the state's health department into the drowning, according to the Daily Herald. 

State health officials are expected to inspect the country club's facility and its conditions, look into whether lifeguards were on duty and determine if equipment was operating properly, the Daily Herald reports. 

The results from the investigation should be released next week, and if the country club is in violation of the state's swimming code, it could face anything from a fine to "outright revocation of its license," the Daily Herald reports. 

The Kane County Coroner's Office also is continuing to investigate the death and has sent toxicology results to a forensic laboratory.
