GENEVA

You Spin Me Right Round

The driver of a Hyundai Sonata got a scare earlier this week but was not injured after a snowplow hit her car hard enough to spin it around in the west parking lot of Delnor Hospital, according to Geneva police reports.

A New Holland 55441 skid steer with an affixed loader driven by a 39-year-old Aurora man collided with the front of the Sonata, driven by a 52-year-old woman from DeKalb. The incident occurred around 8:12 a.m. Feb. 4 in the hospital parking lot, 300 South Randall Road, reports said.

More than $1,500 of damage was done to the Hyundai, and a tow was needed after the crash. No damage was reported to the skid steer.

According to reports, the man was westbound, plowing snow out of the west parking lot of the hospital when his skid steer hit the Sonata, which was southbound in a traffic lane.

The impact sent the Sonata into a half spin, where it rested facing southwest in a parking stall, reports said. Both drivers told police they did not see each other prior to impact.
