Twenty-something white male throws a wooden Christmas decoration through the window at City Hall, strolls around inside the building, then takes off on foot.

Batavia police are offering a $50 incentive to the first person to positively identify the man suspected of tossing a Christmas decoration through a glass window at City Hall, then merrily strolling through the interior of the building.

Police caught the intruder on video and are asking for the public's help in locating the man. You can watch the video on the Batavia Crime-Stoppers Facebook page.

At around 3:30 a.m. Dec. 7, the unidentified male white subject in his 20s damaged a glass door on the south side of the municipal center by throwing a wooden Christmas decoration through the window, Batavia Detective Sgt. Shawn Mazza said.

In the video, the man walks around the interior of the City Hall complex, up the stairs and eventually exists the east side of the building.

At the time of the break-in, an officer was alerted by a records clerk of a suspicious person in the building. The officer attempted to make contact with the man, but he fled south on foot.
