Cannabis Tales: Students Caught With Drug Items At Rotolo and BHS

Police respond to two separate incidents involving possession of drug paraphernalia on Batavia school grounds Friday. One of the incidents also involved alcohol, according to a police report.

Officers responded to two separate, drug-related incidents Friday on  property.

The incidents each involved a different male juvenile and marijuana or cannabis, according to police reports. One incident took place during the school day at . The other took place late at night on the grounds of .

In both situations, the subjects were taken into custody and released to their respective mothers.

Here are the reports for each incident:

12:22 p.m., Sept. 16—Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Rotolo Middle School

Occurred at Rotolo Middle School, 1501 S. Raddant Rd. The offender was confronted by school officials and he admitted to smoking marijuana on school property.

The subject was taken into custody.

A lighter and a small plastic jar containing a green leafy substance was also found on the subject. He was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, according to the report.

The subject was released to his mother.

11:05 p.m., Sept. 16—Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Batavia High School

Occurred at Batavia High School, 1201 Main St. The offender, age 16, was observed on school property. Subject was confused as to how and why he was at the school, according to the report. The subject's mother and paramedics were notified.

The subject admitted to consuming an alcoholic beverage.

A glass pipe and plastic bag containing a lighter and cannabis were found on his person.

The subject was transported to the . He was charged with Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor and Possession of Cannabis and Drug Paraphernalia, according to the report.

Then the subject was released to his mother.
