Cannabis Tales: Defective Muffler, Traffic Stop Lead to Arrests

Two cannabis tales, one each from the Geneva and Batavia blotters, were reported last week.
GENEVA
2 Wheaton Residents Charged
Geneva police arrested Alex Furrah, 18, of Wheaton on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and Macdaniel Sullivan, 18, of Wheaton on charges of possession of cannabis less than 2.5 grams around 12:48 a.m. Jan. 3 in the 1200 block of East State Street, reports said.

Darn That Defective Muffler
During a traffic stop at Hubbard and Kirk, police determined that the Aurora driver of the vehicle had on his person a small smoking pipe that he voluntarily turned over to police. The subject was issued a warning notice for a defective muffler and was released without charges on the possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a report at 4:47 p.m. Jan. 11.
