Bomb Threat Reported at Elderday Center on Tuesday

A K-9 unit was brought in to canvas the Batavia facility. Here's what happened.

An adult day care facility in Batavia this week brought in police to deal with an unusual scare.

The , 8 S. Lincoln St., received a bomb threat on Tuesday, according to a report. Officers were dispatched at 9:41 a.m. Tuesday.

The Kane County Sheriff's Office arrived on the scene with a K-9 unit. Nothing was located after an evacuation.

Police could not find any items of a suspicious nature at the scene.

An Elderday official told police the business had received multiple calls, possible solicitations, asking about the center moving.

Elderday is not moving from its current location, according to police.

No further leads were available at the time of this report. This case was referred to the police department's Investigations Division.

The Elderday Center is open to those over 55 years old as an adult day care facility. The center is located in the Bethany Ministry building next to Bethany Lutheran Church in Batavia.
