Police Identify Man Whose Body Was Pulled From Fox River in Downtown Aurora

Police have identified the man whose body was pulled from the Fox River, according to a report by The Beacon-News.

The man whose body was pulled from the Fox River in Aurora on Tuesday has been identified as Bruce J. Grissette of the 500 block of College Avenue, Aurora, The Beacon-News reports.

The 38-year-old man's body was found in the Fox River near the bridge and dam on Galena Boulevard at around 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, The Beacon-News reports.

The victim was found face down near some logs on the dam, The Beacon reports.

A 911 call from a person riding a bicycle on the Galena Boulevard Bridge in downtown Aurora alerted police to a human body under the dam between Galena and New York Street. A dive team from the Aurora Fire Department was dispatched and firefighters recovered the body.

There were no outward signs of trauma, according to a statement from the Aurora Police Department.

Grissette's body was taken by the Kane County Coroner's Office, which will have an autopsy performed.
