Batavian to Police: I Was Robbed at Gunpoint While Trying to Sell Pot
Here's the latest head-scratcher from the annals of the Batavia Police Department.
Sorry, but we have to ask this rhetorical question: If you're trying to sell pot, what would possess you to call the police and report that someone stole it from you?
Maybe a sense of outrage that you were robbed at gunpoint?
Under the category of "huh?" comes the following item, almost verbatim, from the Batavia police blotter. As we've said many times in the past, we are not making this up:
An armed robbery took place in the parking lot outside Crown Liquors, 135 First St., according to a report at 8:42 p.m. Jan. 10. The victim, from Batavia, reported that while attempting to sell cannabis to an unidentified female subject, a male Hispanic subject approached him and threatened him with a gun. The offender took the victim’s jacket, which contained his cell phone, keys and cannabis.
