Batavia Police: Youth Robbed At Knifepoint in Broad Daylight

The following arrest information was supplied by the Batavia Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A man robbed a juvenile at knifepoint last week at Batavia's Clark Island park area.

The juvenile was walking alone on the island park near the pavilion at 411 S. River Street when he was approached by a black male in his twenties. The incident occurred at 1:36 p.m. March 26, according to a police report.

The man had a folding knife open as he approached the victim and asked for money. The juvenile handed him $20 in U.S. currency.

The man pushed the juvenile down and took the child's skateboard, according to police. He left the area across the footbridge heading towards the wastewater treatment plant.

The juvenile sustained minor cuts from hitting the ground. When the juvenile got home, he told his mother what happened.
