Batavia Police: Son's Heroin Use Prompts Mother to Call For Help

Paramedics responded to an address on the city's east side over the weekend. Here's what they found.

A male subject on Batavia's east side was sent to a hospital after some apparent drug use, according to a police report.

A mother on Saturday reported that her son had been using heroin and that she was having difficulty waking him up. Police were dispatched to the situation at 1:44 a.m. on Oct. 22.

Paramedics arrived to the scene, a residence at , and were able to awaken the mother's son. The report did not specify the age of the son.

The subject admitted to using heroin and agreed to be transported to Delnor Hospital for treatment.

Two hypodermic needles and a burnt spoon were located and placed into evidence.

A referral was made to AID (Association of Individual Development) Victims Services.

Victims Services provides 24-hour assistance to victims and survivors of violent crime or trauma to respond to their psychological, emotional and physical needs, according to its parent group website.
