Batavia Police: Residential Burglary, Theft, Sex Offender Registration

The following arrest information was supplied by the Batavia Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Batavia Police last Tuesday responded to two incidents of residential burglary.

It's not clear whether the two incidents were directly related. Each incident involved electronics, specifically TVs.

Here are other incidents that were reported on Nov. 8. They are listed below in chronological order:

5:37 a.m.—Traffic Arrest 

A 31-year-old Batavia man is headed to court after an incident near the downtown area.

Silvestre Lopez-Vazquez, of the 900 block of Lorlyn Circle, was cited for no valid drivers license and disobeying a traffic control device, according to a police report. The incident occurred at East Wilson Street and South River Street.

Lopez-Vazquez I-Bonded with a court date of Dec. 20.

9:25 a.m—Car Crash: Property Damage

A car crash was reported in the parking lot of 21 N. River St. The incident damaged the exterior corner of the building, according to a police report.

No citations were issued.

11:49 a.m.—Sex Offender Registration

Information was updated at the Batavia Police station, 100 N. Island Ave., regarding a sex offender. No further information was included in the report.

12:48 p.m.—Theft Under $500

The following items were reported missing from a place on the 100 block of South Jefferson Street:

  • Miscellaneous hand tools
  • Bucket
  • Extension cord

The items were given an estimated value of $100, according to a police report.

1:33 p.m.—Car Crash: Property Damage

A civilian car crash was reported at the Batavia Police station, 100 N. Island Ave.

No citations were issued.

10:39 p.m.—Criminal Damage to Property

A broken glass window/door was reported at 800 E. Fabyan Parkway.

The damage estimate was unknown at the time of the report.
