Batavia Police: Domestic Battery, Criminal Damage, Retail Theft

The following arrest information was supplied by the Batavia Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Batavia police officers responded to the following incidents on Jan. 8 and 9. Here they are in chronological order:

Jan. 8

11:46 a.m.—Car Crash: Property Damage

A car crash was reported on the city's west side.

The crash occurred at Fabyan Parkway and Randall Road. No citations were issued, according to a police report.

3:29 p.m.—Retail Theft

A 19-year-old St. Charles man was sent to jail after an incident on the city's west side.

Benjamin C. Audet, of the 1200 block of Walnut Street in St. Charles, was arrested for retail theft at the Batavia Kohl's, 251 N. Randall Road.

Audet took $423 in clothing items from the store, according to a police report.

He was processed and transported to the Kane County Jail, where he awaited bond call.

5:52 p.m.—MRAI (Minor Requiring Authoritative Intervention)

This incident occurred at Batavia Apartments, 1259 E. Wilson St.

No further information was available.

6:18 p.m.—Criminal Damage to Property

A window pane was shattered at Green Meadows Apartments, 1187 W. Wilson St.

The cost to repair the pane will likely exceed $300, according to a police report.

9:08 p.m.—Domestic Trouble

A verbal dispute between two subjects was reported on the city's west side.

The incident happened on the 400 block of Walnut Street. The subjects agreed to go to bed for the night, according to a police report.

Jan. 9

12:10 a.m.—Traffic Arrest

A 31-year-old West Chicago man is headed to court after an incident on the city's east side.

Pascual Andres-Hernandez, of the 200 block of High Street, was cited for no valid drivers license, according to a police report. The incident occurred at 1300 Wind Energy Pass.

Andres-Hernandez posted $150 bond and was released with a court date of Feb. 21.

11:24 a.m.—Domestic Battery (Desk Report)

An incident of domestic battery occurred on Jan. 7 on the city's west side.

The incident occurred at about 4:13 p.m. on the 900 block of Morton Street, according to a delayed report.

There was a verbal/physical confrontation between two subjects. The two were advised to stay away from each other.

1:01 p.m.—Theft Under $500 (Desk Report)

A black nylon pouch was removed from a bicycle in downtown Batavia.

The incident occurred on Jan. 8 between 9 p.m. and 9:10 p.m., according to a delayed report. The bike was parked on the sidewalk in front of a business on the 100 block of West Wilson Street.

A gray leather wallet was inside the pouch, which was valued at $15. The following items were inside the wallet:

  • Illinois state ID
  • Passport
  • Social Security card
  • Debit card

The black nylon pouch was valued at $10.

6:47 p.m.—Theft of Lost Property (Desk Report)

An iPhone with a case was lost in the lobby of the Batavia Burger King, 107 N. Batavia Ave.

The subject was unable to locate the phone. The phone and its case were valued at $520.

9:22 p.m.—Car Crash: Property Damage

A car crash was reported at the Batavia BP Amoco gas station, 200 N. Randall Road.

No citations were issued, according to a police report.

9:44 p.m.—Warrant Service

A 22-year-old Batavia man was sent to jail after an incident on the city's east side.

Zachariah N. Johnson, of the 200 block of Spring Street, was arrested at his address on an outstanding Batavia Police warrant. The warrant was for identity theft not to exceed $300, according to a police report.

Johnson was unable to post 10 percent of his $10,000 bond. He was processed and transported to the Kane County Jail, where he awaited bond call.
