Batavia Police: Property Damage, Thefts and DUI

The following arrest information was supplied by the Batavia Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Batavia police officers responded to the following incidents on March 20 and in the early morning hours of March 21. Here they are in chronological order:

March 20

Between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. -- Property Damage

Batavia police fielded three different calls for property damage. No citations were issued at two of the locations, 2300 Main St. and 115 N. Randall Road.

According to police reports an unnamed Batavia driver was cited at the corner of Randall and Main for disobeying a traffic control signal. No other information was released on the property damage.

8 p.m. -- Theft over $500

Batavia officers responded to a report of theft from the 700 block of S. Batavia Avenue. According to the police report the theft occurred sometime in February but was not reported until this month. Items missing from the address include sinks, toilets, faucets and various fixtures, three computers, a Lazy Boy recliner, various clothing items, a snow blower, a lawn mower and holiday decorations. The total value of the missing items is unknown, according to the police report. The incident is still under investigation.

 

9:58 p.m. -- Damage to Vehicle

Police responded to a hit and run call in the parking lot of a business at 154 W. Wilson St. According to the police report an unknown driver hit a parked vehicle.

 

March 21

6 a.m. -- DUI

Police arrested Donald T. Hanson II, 22, of 1004 Garfield Ave., Aurora, for driving under the influence of alcohol.  Hanson was initially stopped for driving without headlights when required. He was released on bond with a court date of April 25.

Police also arrested Michael T. Berg, 22, or 636 N. Randall Road for two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Berg was released with a court date of April 17.
