Batavia Police: Domestic Battery, Vehicle Taken, Unknown Text

Here's what local officers responded to over the Columbus Day weekend. The following arrest information was supplied by the Batavia Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Batavia Police responded to the following incidents in town on Oct. 9. Here they are in chronological order:

2:42 a.m.—Telephone Threats

Someone in the 0-99 block of South Van Nortwick reported receiving a threatening text message.

The phone number was unknown and so was the sender.

4:34 a.m.—Car Crash: Property Damage

A 52-year-old Batavia man reported being rear-ended as he was turning into the AGCO parking lot, 1500 N. Raddant Rd.

Kevin R. Bailey said the driver that rear ended his vehicle left the scene. The driver was described as a man with a dark complexion.

Bailey made his entrance at the northernmost turn of the AGCO property, about 50 ft. south of East Fabyan Parkway.

Before the collision, Bailey said the driver appeared to move his vehicle erratically as each car drove west on Fabyan Parkway from Kirk Road.

10:28 a.m.—Vehicle Taken

A victim reported that his or her vehicle was borrowed from the parking lot and not returned at the agreed time, according to a police report.

The victim eventually responded to Aurora and retrieved their vehicle.

2:13 p.m.—Disturbance

An officer responded to a verbal dispute between two subjects on the 100 block of East Wilson Street.

One subject then left for awhile.

4:13 p.m.—Vehicle Property Damage

A car belonging to a Batavia couple was hit while it sat in a parking lot.

4:18 p.m.—Car Crash: Property Damage

A 20-year-old female driver from Aurora received a citation after an incident at the Mill Street and Randall Road intersection.

Malayna Lopez struck a car driven by 37-year-old Faith Lashure, also from Aurora. Lashure was waiting to turn south onto Randall Road, pulled forward slightly into the intersection and stopped, according to a crash report.

Lopez followed Lashure and was not able to stop. She struck Lashure's car on its rear driver's side.

Lopez received a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

No injuries were reported.

8:30 p.m.—Harassment

An incident of harassment was reported on the 1100 block of Miller Court.

There was no further information at the time of the report.

10:36 p.m.—Domestic Battery

A 50-year-old Naperville man was arrested after an incident of domestic battery on Batavia's west side.

Jeffrey M. Kennedy, of the 100 block of Fernwood Drive, Naperville, was involved in the incident, according to a police report.

The incident occurred on the 1100 block of Landfield Road in Batavia, the report said.

Kennedy was transported to bond call.
