(Updated) Batavia Police: Drunk at Softball, Mad at Bank, Domestic Battery

The following arrest information was supplied by the Batavia Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Batavia police officers responded to the following incidents on May 1 and early morning May 2. Here they are in chronological order:

May 1

12:32 a.m.—Domestic Battery

A 23-year-old West Chicago woman was transported after an incident on Batavia's east side.

Meosha A. Adams, of the 500 block of Carriage Drive in West Chicago, was charged with the following:

  • Domestic Battery—Bodily Harm
  • Domestic Battery—Insulting/Provoking contact

The incident occurred on the 1200 block of East Wilson Street, according to a police report.

Adams was processed and transported for bond call.

5:46 a.m.—Theft Under $500

A blue, 4X6 wool-braided rug was taken from a yard on Batavia's east side.

The rug was valued at about $100, according to a police report. The incident occurred on the 200 block of Woodland Hills Road.

8:51 a.m.—Criminal Damage to Property

Graffiti was found on the upper level of a downtown Batavia parking garage.

A damage to city property report was completed for the incident, which took place at 10 N. River St.

3:58 p.m.—Disturbance

A customer was reported as being upset with new bank procedures on Batavia's west side.

An employee was able to assist the customer with the new bank options. The incident took place at a bank branch on the 100 block of South Randall Road, according to a police report.

5:03 p.m.—Car Crash: Property Damage

A car crash was reported on the 0-99 block of Oak Terrace Court on Batavia's east side.

No citations were issued in this incident, according to a police report.

5:17 p.m.—Fraud

Two subjects were involved in an incident of fraud on the Batavia's west side.

The subjects wrote fraudulent checks for items purchased at a store on the 100 block of North Randall Road, according to a police report.

The items were returned later, except for a gift card, and the subjects received cash back.

Further information was not available on this incident.

6:13 p.m.—Intoxicated Subject

A highly intoxicated subject was reported at a softball game on Batavia's east side.

The subject yelled at a call made during the game, yelled in the face of another subject and "stumbled onto to the subject," according to a police report. The incident occurred at Prairie Lathem Park, 601 Lathem St.

The responding officer spoke with the subject at his or her residence. No arrest was made and no charges were pursued, the report said.

8:42 p.m.—Unwanted Subject

A subject was reportedly causing a disturbance at a restaurant in downtown Batavia.

The subject was issued a ban notice for the location on Island Avenue.

May 2

12:32 a.m.—Delivery of Cannabis Less Than 31 Grams

A 31-year-old Batavia man is headed to court after an incident on the west side.

John E. Kachnik, of the 1100 block of Woodland Hills Road, was arrested for unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, according to a police report. The incident occurred on the 600 block of North Avenue.

A complaint was issued for this incident. Kachnick posted $150 bond and was released with a court date of June 19.

Kachnik also was cited for no rear registration plate light. He I-bonded out and a court date was issued for June 19.
