Batavia Police: Dog Bite, Domestic, Suspicious Person

There were also incidents of harassment, one employee theft and art marker theft. Here are the details.

Batavia police officers responded to the following incidents on Feb. 3 and early morning Feb. 4. Here they are in chronological order:

3:05 a.m.—Harassment

A victim reported being threatened and harassed by an ex-boyfriend on the city's east side.

The harassment occurred by phone on the 1200 block of North Raddant Road, according to a police report.

No complaints were signed. The police report was for documentation only.

11:03 a.m.—Theft

An incident of theft was reported at a business on the city's east side.

The complainant reported an employee that made numerous unauthorized charges using a company credit card, according to a police report. The business affected is on the 1800 block of Hagemann Drive.

The unauthorized credit transactions amount to $596.61, the report said. Charges are pending in this incident.

2:05 p.m.—Dog Bite (Desk Report)

A complainant reported that her dog was attacked on the city's east side by a black Labrador. The incident occurred on the 600 block of North Prairie Street, according to a police report.

The owner of the attacking dog was issued Ordinance Violations for:

  • Vicious/Dangerous Dog
  • Dog Disturbing the Peace
  • Dog at Large

4:53 p.m.—Car Crash: Property Damage

A car crash was reported in a parking lot on the 1900 block of West Wilson Street.

7:15 p.m.—Theft

Complainants reported that an unknown offenders or offenders made off with about 190 art markers from a business on the 400 block of North Randall Road, according to a police report.

The markers are valued at $6.99 each.

7:50 p.m.—Suspicious Person

A complainant reported an unknown subject lingering in her yard on the city's east side.

The incident occurred on the 200 block of Lathem Street, according to a police report.

The area was checked and a suspect was not located.

Evening—Harassment

A victim on the west side reported receiving a call from a male subject. The man said he was just released from the Vienna Correctional Center and was told he would be able to stay at her residence, according to a police report.

When the complainant refused, the caller became threatening. The subject was directed to call 911 if anyone showed up from the Center. This incident occurred on the 700 block of Midway Drive.

11:31 p.m.—Domestic

A verbal dispute broke out on the city's east side.

The incident involved a victim and his son over the son's drinking, according to a police report.

The parties were separated for the night on the 1200 block of Trillium Court. A referral was made to Victim Services.

Feb. 4

2:40 p.m.—Open Door

An unsecured door was found on the 0-99 block of North Van Buren Street.

The interior showed no sign of criminal activity, according to a police report. The door was secured and the key holder was notified.
