Batavia Police: Car vs. Tree, Stolen Stop Sign, Fraud

The following arrest information was supplied by the Batavia Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Batavia police officers responded to the following incidents in town on Thursday, Dec. 15. Here they are in chronological order:

7:21 a.m.—Car Crash: Property Damage

A car collision was reported on the city's east side.

A driver from St. Charles was involved with a parked, unoccupied vehicle at 1253 Kingsland Drive.

9:34 a.m.—Car Crash: Property Damage

A car vs. tree incident was reported on the city's southwest side.

There were no injuries in the incident, which took place at 2459 Bird Ln. No citations were issued.

10:39 a.m.—Traffic Arrest

A 20-year-old West Chicago resident is headed to court after an incident on the city's east side.

Iveth Ayala-Romero, 20, 317 Vine St., was arrested for operating an uninsured vehicle and no valid drivers license, according to a police report. The incident took place at Kirk and Giese roads.

Ayala-Romero posted $150 bond and was released with a court date of Jan. 3, 2012.

10:51 a.m.—Fraud (Desk Report)

Unlawful use of a credit card was reported on the 900 block of Hodge Lane.

A total of $1,090 worth of merchandise was charged, according to a police report.

11:09 a.m.—Assist

Batavia Police provided traffic assistance while the Batavia Fire Department and other fire crews responded to a fire on the 100 block of North Mallory Avenue.

1:30 p.m.—Theft Under $500

A stolen stop sign was reported on the city's east side.

The sign was taken from the southeast corner of Raddant Road and Wilson Street. It is valued at $150, according to a police report.

6:47 p.m.—Car Crash: Property Damage

A driver from Batavia was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. The incident took place at East Wilson Street and North River Street.
