Batavia Police: Burglary, Drug Items at School, Speeding

Batavia police officers responded to the following incidents on April 26:

8:26 a.m.—Residential Burglary

The following items were taken from a residence on the 1000 block of Lorlyn Circle on Batavia's west side:

  • Cell phone, unknown value
  • Entertainment center, valued at $200
  • 50" plasma TV, valued at $800
  • Playstation 3 video game system, valued at $250

10:25 a.m.—Traffic Arrest

A 27-year-old Aurora man is headed to court after an incident on the west side.

Ricardo Melendez, of the 700 block of North Randall Road in Aurora, was cited for no valid driver's license and speeding. The incident occurred at Randall Road and Main Street in Batavia, according to a police report.

Melendez was released with a notice to appear court date of June 5.

11:13 a.m.—Poss. of Drug Paraphernalia

A juvenile was taken into custody for possession of drug paraphernalia at Batavia High School, 1201 Main St.
