Batavia Police: 2 Domestic Battery Incidents Reported Over Labor Day Weekend

The following arrest information was supplied by the Batavia Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Batavia Police responded to two domestic battery incidents during the Labor Day holiday weekend, according to reports.

In each case, a man in his 20s with a Batavia address was taken into custody. The incidents are not related.

Sept. 2

Batavia Police at 7 a.m. responded to an incident of domestic battery between a victim and her boyfriend that occurred in the 200 block of East Wilson Street.

The boyfriend's name is Jeremiah L. Begay, 27, of the 200 block of East Wilson Street, according to a police report.

The victim reported that the offender tried to suffocate her, causing a bruise on her face. Police gave the victim a domestic violence packet.

The offender was located, taken into custody and held for morning bond call, according to the police report.

Sept. 4

Batavia Police at 9:18 p.m. responded to an incident of domestic battery in the 1000 block of Lorlyn Circle.

Rubin Sirmento, 29, of the the 1000 block of Lorlyn Circle, was arrested for domestic battery—that which causes bodily harm and for domestic battery—making physical contact.

Sirmento was transported to bond call afterward.

No further information was available on these incidents.
