Batavia Woman Cited After Rollover Crash on Main Street Feb. 10

The woman's car veered off the road, crashed through a fence and struck a utility pole, according to police.

The Batavia woman that went to the hospital after a one-car crash earlier this month on Main Street received a citation in the incident, police said.

The 34-year-old woman was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, according to a Batavia police crash report. The incident occurred at 11:27 a.m. Feb. 10 on the 1300 block of Main Street.

Conditions were wet and icy on the roadway when the woman lost control of her crossover sport-utility vehicle. She struck a city street sign pole with signs, a fence on Mooseheart property and a wooden ComEd electric utility pole, the report said.

The woman's vehicle rolled over and came to stop on its roof. The woman complained of some head pain and was taken to Delnor Hospital. She was treated and released sometime before Feb. 15—on that date a Cadence Health spokesman said there was no one with her name admitted to the hospital.

A March 5 court date in connection to the citation was assigned to this case.
