Batavia Blotter: Woman Charged With Battery Over 'Mutual Acquaintance'

Here are miscellaneous police reports filed by the Batavia Police Department between Aug. 12 and Aug. 21, 2013:
West Chicago Woman Charged With Battery
Batavia police arrested Angela Switzer-Flejnor, 45, of West Chicago on charges of battery and disorderly conduct around 7:46 p.m. Aug. 17, reports said. According to reports, Switzer-Flejnor blocked the victim with her car, then grabbed the victim by the arm, yelling at her over a mutual acquaintance. Switzer-Flejnor posted $150 bond and was released with a court date of Sept. 10.
Dog Bites Person
A dog bit was reported in the 1000 block of Schiedler Drive at 9:41 a.m. Aug. 20. The report was incomplete.

Animal Complaint
A complainant reported that a dog is allowed to run free without a leash in the area of Martin Drive and Crane Court. The owner was issued an ordinance violation for Dog at Large, according to a report filed at 1:56 p.m. Aug. 16.

Counterfeit Bill
An employee of First Street Garage, 318 First St., reported to Batavia police that the business had received a counterfeit $5 bill within the past few days, according to a report filed at 1:53 p.m. Aug. 17.
Found Property
A bicycle was found in the bushes at Kohl’s, 251 N. Randall Road, according to a report filed at 7:11 p.m. Aug. 17. The bicycle was transported to the Police Department.
Lost Property
A man reported that he lost his wallet in the area of 700 Van Buren St., according to a report filed at 1:19 p.m. Aug. 16. The wallet contained ID cards, a debit card, a link card and about $100 in cash.
Customer/Management Dispute
A complainant told police that the cashier at the 7-11, 710 E. Fabyan Parkway, accidentally put too many minutes on her cellular phone and the amount could not be reversed, according to a report filed at 9 a.m. Aug. 16. An arrangement was made for the complainant to pay off the additional amount as the minutes were used.
Trespassing Charges
Edward Arbut, 54, of Batavia was intoxicated and soliciting monies from passersby in the 0-100 block of North River Street, according to a report filed at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 16. He was previously banned from the property, taken into custody and charged with local ordinance violation for having open alcohol on a public sidewalk. He also was charged with state violation for criminal trespass to property and disorderly conduct. He was transported to Kane County Jail and was awaiting bond call at the time of the report.
