Batavia Blotter: Woman Arrested For Aggravated Assault, Man for Urinating in Public, Adult Reported Missing

The following information was supplied by the Batavia Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Miscellaneous blotter items from Batavia collected for the week prior to Jan. 13 include an arrest for aggravated assault.

Woman Charged With Aggravated Assault 

Batavia police arrested Mona Gabnay, 41, of Elburn on charges of aggravated assault and obstructing a police officer and resisting arrest in the 400 block of Chestnut Street, according to a report at 1:13 a.m. Jan. 12.  She posted $150 bond and has a court date of Feb. 18.

Police Department Garage Door Damaged

Someone damaged a garage door at the Batavia Police Department, 100 N. Island Ave., according to a report at 9 p.m. Jan. 10. No dollar amount for the damage.

Police Assist After Fall on Ice

 

A victim from St. Charles fell on the ice in the 0-99 block of North River Street, according to a report at 8:45 a.m. Jan. 11. The victim was offered medical assistance but refused.

 

Urinating Off Donovan Bridge

 

An unnamed subject was issued an ordinance violation for indecent conduct for urinating in public on the Donovan Bridge, 1 E. Wilson St. The subject, from Batavia, was not named in the report filed at 3:38 p.m. Jan. 11.

 

Adult Reported Missing

 

Friends living in the 900 block of Sycamore Lane reported that their friend had not been seen since 9 p.m. Jan. 10. The report was filed at 5:45 p.m. Jan. 11. Family members also were contacted with negative results.

Credit Card Fraud: Cash Advances Total $1,500 

 

A victim who resides in the 700 block of Ridgelawn Avenue told police that an unknown offender accessed her credit card and made several cash advances totaling $1,500. The company was notified and the account was cancelled, according to a report filed at 9:25 a.m. Jan. 10.

 

Wallet Missing

 

A victim, who lives in the 900 block of Maple Lane, reported the loss of his wallet, which contained a debit card and $13 in cash. The report was filed at 10:17a.m. Jan. 10.
