Batavia Blotter: Tattooing a Minor, Death From Natural Causes, Urethane Found

The following information was supplied by the Batavia Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Death Natural Causes—A female victim was found face down on the kitchen floor, not breathing and not responsive around 4:34 p.m. June 14 in the 1300 block of Newton Avenue. The victim was pronounced dead by paramedics, the Kane County coroner was called and family members were contacted.

Stray Dog—A stray dog was found tied to a pole in the 400 block of McKee Street around 6:52 p.m. June 14. A chip was found in the dog, but the officer was unable to trace the chip, and the dog was turned over to Kane County Animal Control.

Urethane Found—A person reported finding an unopened container of Urethane at the 7-11, 336 E. Wilson St., around 9:46 p.m. June 14, reports said. The found property was entered into evidence.

Assist at Pool—Police assisted the Batavia Fire Department at Quarry Park Pool, 400 S. Water St. The report was incomplete.

Tattooing a Minor—Batavia police arrested Manuel Serna Jr., 38, of Batavia on charges of failure to appear and tattooing the body of a minor under 18. The arrest report was filed around 6:45 p.m. June 13 at the Police Department, 100 N. Island Avee. Serna posted $500 and has a court date of July 2. 

Car Hits Deer—A car hit a deer around 9:17 p.m. June 13 in the 1400 block of Fabyan Parkway.
