Batavia Blotter: Retail Theft Arrest, Stray Dog, Found Property

The following information was supplied by the Batavia Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following is a roundup of miscellaneous items from the Batavia Police Department “Daily Report Synopsis, Media/Public Version.” 

Criminal Damage to Property

  • Criminal damage to property was reported at Sam’s Club, 501 N. Randall Road, at 12:35 p.m. Nov. 3. The damage was done in the parking lot, but no further information is available.
  • Someone scratched the side door of a vehicle parked at Portillo’s, 531 N. Randall Road, according to a report filed at 3:31 p.m. Nov. 2.

 

Found Property — a Teal Bike

A teal-color bicycle was found in the Fox River in the area of 148 N. Water Street, according to a report filed at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 1. The bicycle was transported to the Batavia Police Department for safekeeping.

Anybody Missing a Dog?

Someone found a brown and white dog and turned it over to Kane County Animal Control. The report was filed at 5:59 p.m. Oct. 28 and the location was the 0-99 block of North Daniels Drive.

Woman Charged for Retail Theft

Batavia police arrested Denisse Torres-Gallegos, 19, of Aurora around 2:49 p.m. Oct. 29 on charges of retail theft at Kohl’s, 251 N. Randall Road. The value of items taken was $307.50, reports said.
