Batavia Blotter: Police Stop 'Extremely Intoxicated' Out-of-Towner Pounding on Wrong Door

Here's a roundup of reports collected last week at the Batavia Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Disturbances, public intoxication, criminal trespass and suspicious incidents—the life of a police officer isn't easy and not always glamorous. Here are a few of the miscellaneous items collected last week at the Batavia Police Department.

Intoxicated Subject—Police were called to the 500 block of Franklin Street at around 1:46 a.m. Feb. 23 for a report of man pounding on a door. The subject, from Addison, was “extremely intoxicated” and had pounded on the door of the wrong residence looking for his friends. Paramedics were called to check the subject but he declined care. His mother was contacted and she “took responsibility for the subject,” reports said.

Disturbance—An employee of a restaurant on the first block of North Water Street became angry when paychecks were not available to be picked up on Feb. 22, and someone called police. No damages were reported and the subject was given a no-trespass warning, reports said.
