Batavia Blotter: Car-Wash Burglary, $1,300 Identity Theft, Stay Dog Found and More

The following is a list of miscellaneous items from the Batavia police blotter, for incidents from April 11 to April 22, 2013. 

Suicide Attempt—A suicide attempt by drugs took place around 3:38 p.m. April 15. The subject was transported to Delnor Hospital.

Stray Dog—A stray golden retriever was found in the area of Raddant Road and Moorehead Drive around 8:03 p.m. April 13, reports said. The dog was chipped but the owner’s name was not listed. The owner subsequently came to the Police Department to claim her dog and was given an ordinance violation for dog at large.

Identity Theft—The victim reported that an unknown offender had purchased four cellphones using his name, and there was a bill in the amount of $1,300 owed to Sprint. The subject was given an identity theft packet. The report was made around 10:24 am. April 12 in the 600 block of Carriage Drive.

Despondent Suicidal Subject—A suicidal subject was transported to Delnor Hospital, around 10:04 a.m. April 11.

Fraud—Someone reported credit card fraud in the amount of $184.94 in the 1300 block of Brandywine Circle at around 10:35 p.m. April 11, reports said.

Despondent, Suicidal Subject—A despondent subject was transported to Delnor Hospital around 1:58 a.m. April 12 from the Batavia Police Department, 100 N. Island Ave.

Burglary—Someone attempted to gain entry to Fox River Car Wash, 19 S. Prairie St., sometime between 4 p.m. April 13 and 10:30 a.m. April 14, reports said. There were signs of forced entry on the door knob, dead bolt lock and door jam, but the burglar was unable to gain access, reports said.
